ahhh, Sensitivity again.
I have been getting a rash of sensitivity lately from Composite fillings. Specifically class 2. It is super embarrassing because the other doctors are not having the same problem I have. I am very conservative and I alway use a lot of water. Anyone else been through this?
Whenever I get sensitivity I always go back to my bonding technique. You have to find the instructions for the bonding system, read them, and make sure you are doing everything to a tee. This usually works, as long as the filling is not so deep. Also, make sure the dentin is always slightly wet and never completely dry. It is very easy to over dry with compressed air.
What Gustavo said. Go over your technique. Are you curing long enough? after you bond flowable to the gingival floor, can you flick it off with a explorer? A lot of sensitivity comes from when the composite debonds, and is being held in place buy the mechanical retention.
Also I would add, you should pause treatment on the patient till the sensitivity gets resolved. I wouldn’t just plow through and do more fillings because the next work may cause more sensitivity and make the situation worse
