Mini gearbox slipping when cold, anyone found a fix that actually lasts?
Quote from Rexford Warman on September 25, 2026, 6:42 amMy 2014 Cooper S has this annoying habit of slipping slightly when I first start driving in the morning, like the gear takes a second longer to engage than it should. Once the car warms up it drives completely normal which makes it hard to demonstrate to any mechanic. I have asked two shops and both said to bring it back when it gets worse, which is frustrating because by then it might be too late. I have been searching for reliable Mini Cooper gearbox repair in Sharjah but I am not sure who actually knows these cars. Has anyone dealt with cold start slipping and got it properly diagnosed? I am wondering if it is just old fluid that needs changing or if it is the beginning of clutch pack wear. If anyone has had this and fixed it without a full rebuild I would really like to know what worked.
